A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words: Bacon Burgers

I'm excited to share some ideas I've had recently but kind of feel like just giving a brief description and showing you guys a photo...  Hope this works!  I love to share recipes.  Don't hesitate to ask!

Juicy Bacon Burgers with Basil and Cracked Pepper Mayo

Meat Prep: Cube and slightly freeze ribeye or chuck steak and chop raw bacon.  I used a meat grinder, and went for a 2/3 beef & 1/3 bacon meat mixture

Macarons

I've been inspired recently to try my luck with making macarons!  No, not macaroons, those delicious coconut gooey morsels sometimes coated in chocolate. Macarons!

These light and airy joyful mouthfuls are kind a labor of love but definitely worth it and much easier than I thought it would be.

So far we have made: Carolyn's Cookies (my secret flavor passed down from my husband's grandmother), Dark Chocolate Mocha, Salted Caramel, Coconut, Earl Grey Creme, Rose, Vanilla Bean, and Coffee.

While these were all fun to make and better to eat I'm ready to get adventurous! Hmm... Cardamom and Espresso? Apricot & Darjeeling? Saffron & Citrus? I don't know. "KSS" is ringing in my brain (keep it simple stupid) but I kind of want a new challenge.

Recipes:

Macaron Cookie from Martha Stewart

Swiss Meringue Buttercream

Inspiration for the Maple and Candied Bacon came to my from another blog: "the sweet spot"

I like to use purple for coconut.
Inspiration for the Toasted Coconut came from a delicious
salted toasted coconut topping my friend
Nadia makes from ice cream that I have been craving.

Thanks Nadia!

mmmm..Salty Toasted Coconut & Maple and Candied Bacon!

Side Note:

I was going to put more candied bacon in the
middle of the cookies...
But this booger jumped up on the table
and helped herself to the whole plate...
Thankfully (because it took 30 minutes to make!)
I had put some on the cookie before this happened.
Thanks Chelsea...
